Karate

      Karate originated in the Ryukyu Kingdom, which is now the Okinawa prefecture of Japan, in the 15th century. It was influenced by Chinese martial arts and indigenous Ryukyuan martial arts. Techniques: Karate uses striking techniques with the hands, feet, elbows, and knees, as well as blocking and grappling. Practitioners: A karate practitioner is called a karateka.        Karate is a Japanese martial art whose physical aspects seek the development of defensive and counterattacking body movements. The themes of traditional karate training are fighting and self-defense, though its mental and moral aspects target the overall improvement of the individual.
