Junior Red Cross


The Junior Red Cross was established in 1922 in the hope of encouraging younger generations to cultivate their humanitarian spirit by understanding the Red Cross principles and ideas, and by participating actively in the Movement.



National Cadet Corps


The National Cadet Corps is the Indian military cadet corps with its head Quarters at New Delhi. It is open to school and college students on voluntary basis.The National Cadet Corps in India is a voluntary organization which recruits cadets from high schools, colleges and Universities all over India. The Cadets are given basic military training in small arms and parades. The officers and cadets have no liability for active military service once they complete their course but are given preference over normal candidates during selections based on the achievements in the corps.Motto of NCC"Unity and Discipline (Ekta aur Anushasan)"



Scouts and Guides


The Scout Guide Movement is basically the Youth Movement. The program has been designed with amendments for the all-round development of the personality of the youth up to the age of twenty-five. This was also the dream and foresight of Lord Baden Powell, the founding father of the Movement. Scouting and Guiding is a voluntary, non-political, secular, non-sectarian, uniformed youth movement. It was founded by Lord Baden Powell in England in 1907 and started in Indian in 1909. This movement was conceptualized in Intra by the founder, who had spent 10 years in this country as an army officer. It is an international organization spread over 155 countries and has a strength of 36 million members. It aims at the development of the personality of its members and trains them to serve the society.There are 4 sections of members1. Bunny (3-5 years)2. Cub-Bulbul (6-10 years)3. Scouts/ Guide (11-17 years)4. Rover/Ranger (18- 25 years)Once a Scout/Guide is always a Scout/guide. Many famous nationalist leaders have worked for the growth of the Movement in the Pre-independent India. There were a number of Scouts/Guides organizations (prominent being the Hindustan Scouts Association, Boy Scout Association, Girl Guide Association). On the 7th November 1950, the 'Merger' took place and the BHARAT SCOUTS & GUIDES was formed. Girl Guides Association joined this organization on 15th August 1951.



SCOUT & BUNNY


The Bunny Programme is a part of the Scouts and Guides program for children aged 3 to 6 years: The group is called Tamtola and is open to both boys and girls. A Tamtola group has a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 20 members. The Bunny Law is "I shall try to be a good boy/girl". The Bunny Salute is made by raising the middle and forefinger of both hands along the side of the ears. A Bunny apron is worn over a school uniform or other dress. The apron has a Bunny symbol on a bright background. The program is based on four sign posts: love for God, love for nature, creative activities, and learning to play together. The program helps children develop habits of personal cleanliness and manners, be courteous, and cultivate social virtues. The program was introduced by Mrs. Lakshmi Mazumdar, the former National Commissioner, during the International Year of Child. The Bharat Scouts and Guides is a voluntary, non-political, and secular organization. Motto: The motto is "Keep Smiling".



Cubs and Bulbuls


Cubs and Bulbuls is a program for students in grades 3–5 that helps develop character, independence, and responsibility. It's the next step after Bunny in the journey towards scouting and guiding. The program's goal is to help children develop character, self-discipline, and thoughtfulness for others. The program helps children develop skills like leadership, cooperation, and self-reliance. Activities include hands-on learning, community service, and outdoor activities. There are five levels in the program: Praveshika, Rajat Kiran, Swarn Kiran, Heerak Kiran, and Rajya Puraskar. Each level has specific skills, activities, and requirements that Scouts must complete to advance to the next level. Cubs wear green uniforms.



National Service Scheme (NSS)


The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a program by the Government of India that allows students to participate in community service activities. The NSS was launched in 1969 by the then Union Education Minister Dr.V.K.R.V. Rao. The program's goals include: Education through service,Students can develop their character and personality through community service. Social awareness, Students can gain a sense of the realities of life and the needs of the community. Work experience,Students can gain work experience that may help them find employment after college.
